Porsche Panamera - premiere of the second generation of sports fastback took place in June 2016 at a special event in Berlin. In March 2017, a new modification appeared in the model family Sport Turismo with a station wagon.

Despite the continuity in design, the Panamera of the second iteration is still seriously different from its predecessor: the roof geometry has been revised (20 mm lower above the second row of seats), the side glazing line has been changed, the front overhang has been shortened, and the rear overhang has been increased. Thanks to this, the model has become more "tight" and similar to the legendary Porsche 911, but the most notable innovation is the newly designed LED headlights. They are equipped with four-point daytime running lights, which are available in three versions.

The new Porsche Panamera is 34 mm longer (5049 mm), 6 mm wider (1937 mm) and 5 mm taller (1423 mm in the basic version) the previous one. The wheelbase has grown by 30 mm - up to 2950 mm. In addition, the model is available in the Executive version with a “stretched” body up to 5199 mm and a wheelbase increased to 3100 mm.

Modified body components such as the hood, trunk, roof and fenders of the Porsche Panamera are made from aluminium. There is enough room in the wheel arches for wheels with 19-inch (model 4S), 20-inch (Turbo) and 21-inch (available on request) alloy wheels. Also, the car was equipped with a new electromechanical steering, three-chamber air suspension under the control of the 4D Chassis Control system and rear wheel thrusters. The architectural ensemble of a sloping roofline, clearly defined side windows and a developed shoulder section is complemented by embossed taillights connected with a narrow LED strip with four-point brake lights. The tailgate is equipped by default with an electric drive and a retractable rear spoiler, which is painted in body color.

In the cabin - the realm of expensive leather and touch panels that have replaced most of the push-button switches (even the "blinds" of the central air duct are adjusted using touch sliders). The center console of the Panamera has a 12.3-inch touchscreen display for Porsche Communication Management (PCM), which can be individually configured by the driver and passenger in the front seat. In the top versions, your tablet, as well as climate control, is also offered for rear passengers. And the dashboard is a nod to motorsport classics and the latest technology, with a centrally positioned dial tachometer flanked by two 7-inch displays.

A panoramic sliding roof, massage seats, interior ambient lighting and Burmester surround sound systems are available at an additional cost. Also of the new options, you should pay attention to the LED matrix headlights, which can briefly illuminate people in an unlit area and a night vision system to recognize pedestrians and animals.

The spoiler of the Porsche Panamera Turbo is divided into three sections, and the exhaust pipes are decorated trapezoidal nozzles.

The second generation of the Porsche Panamera is equipped with an 8-speed dual-clutch PDK. The model is available in the following modifications:

• Panamera - rear-wheel drive, 3.0 V6 turbo petrol engine (330 hp, 450 Nm). Acceleration 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
• Panamera 4 and Panamera 4 Executive - all-wheel drive, 3.0 V6 turbo petrol engine (330 hp, 450 Nm). Acceleration 0-100 km / h in 5.5 seconds (5.6 seconds for the Executive).
• Panamera 4S and Panamera 4S Executive - all-wheel drive, 2.9 V6 twin turbo petrol engine (440 hp, 550 Nm). Acceleration 0-100 km / h in 4.4 seconds (4.5 seconds for the Executive).
• Panamera Turbo and Panamera Turbo Executive - all-wheel drive, 4.0 V8 twin turbo petrol engine (550 hp, 770 Nm). Acceleration 0-100 km / h in 3.8 seconds (3.9 seconds for the Executive).
• Panamera 4 E-Hybrid - all-wheel drive, hybrid installation with a 2.9-liter V6 bi-turbo engine (330 hp, 450 Nm), an electric motor (136 hp, 400 Nm) and a 14 kW lithium-ion battery h. Acceleration 0-100 km / h in 4.6 seconds (4.7 seconds for the Executive).
• Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Executive - all-wheel drive, hybrid setup with 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine (550 hp, 770 Nm), electric motor (136 hp, 400 Nm) ) and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 14 kWh. Acceleration 0-100 km / h in 3.4 seconds (3.5 seconds for the Executive).

The trunk volume of the Porsche Panamera is 495 liters with the second row seat backs up and 1304 liters with the seats folded down. The seatbacks fold in a ratio of 40:20:40. In hybrid versions of the Panamera, the trunk holds from 405 to 1215 liters.

The sporty character of the Porsche Panamera is confirmed by the results of the model's arrival at the legendary N?rburgring in Germany. According to Porsche, the new Panamera with a 550-horsepower V8 engine and a PDK “robot” passed the Nordschleife in 7 minutes 38 seconds - 1 second faster Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio with a 510-horsepower V6 engine and a 6-speed "mechanics". However, later Giulia with an 8-speed "automatic" improved result up to 7 minutes 32 seconds.

Serial production of the second generation Porsche Panamera started in the summer of 2016. The model is produced at the Porsche plant in Leipzig (Germany).
