The appearance of the updated Porsche Cayenne in Stuttgart is called "sharp", and we tend to agree with this. New lines of the grille, front and rear lights, bumpers, exhaust pipes, hood are drawn with a more determined hand, the car has become less “chubby” and more aggressive in appearance.
It is interesting to note that different versions of the Cayenne received different headlights: for Diesel, S and S E-Hybrid, bi-xenon lights with four-point LED daytime running lights are offered, while the top Turbo has full LED and adaptive optics.
The interior has a multifunctional steering wheel in the spirit of the 918 Spyder with paddle shifters and a rear row of seats with ventilation.
Technical innovations include an improved "stop-start" and the first active grille flaps on a production SUV, which improve aerodynamics and engine cooling.
The facelifted Cayenne received a plug-in hybrid version of the S E-Hybrid for the first time. The same setup as the Panamera consists of a 95-horsepower electric motor and a 3.0-litre V6 petrol; together they develop 410 hp. With. and 590 Nm. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 243 km/h in hybrid mode and 126 km/h in electric mode.
In addition, the 395-horsepower aspirated engine was replaced by a new 3.6-liter V6 biturbo, whose power is 414 hp. With. With Tiptronic, it accelerates the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds (or 5.1 seconds with the Sport Chrono package) up to a top speed of 257 km/h.
Porsche has equipped the most powerful Cayenne with an eight-cylinder twin-turbo engine. The upgraded power unit will be able to develop 570 horsepower, which is 20 “horses” more than predecessor. The maximum torque of the petrol "monster" has been increased from 750 to 800 Nm. Thanks to this upgrade, the Cayenne engine, paired with an 8-speed automatic, accelerates the SUV from standstill to hundreds in 4.1 seconds - 0.4 seconds faster than now, and the maximum speed reaches 284 km / h.
In addition, the Turbo S is equipped with all-wheel drive systems and active torque distribution, adjustable suspension and heavy-duty brakes with 10-piston calipers and 420 mm discs at the front, as well as 4-piston calipers and 370 mm brake discs at the rear.
To confirm the sprinting abilities of a "charged" crossover, in Porsche tested the novelty on the Nurburgring North Loop in Germany. According to the manufacturer, the updated Cayenne Turbo S managed to complete the lap in 7:59:74 minutes, making the car the fastest production SUV ever to drive on this track. This title was previously held by a Range Rover Sport SVR that completed one lap of the Nordschlaf. in 8 minutes 14 seconds.
Cayenne GTS equipped with the Sport Design package, which includes extended wheel arches and new side skirts. The SUV also has a sports exhaust system with four round pipes, an adaptive suspension with variable ground clearance and larger brake discs (390 mm front and 359 mm rear).
