Porsche Macan — first generation models were presented in 2013 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. In 2018 at the Paris Motor Show took place presentation restyled version of the crossover in the European specification. Built on the same platform as the Audi Q5.

In the Porsche model range, the Macan (translated from the Javanese language common in Indonesia “Tiger”) is located one step below the flagship SUV Porsche Cayenne. The main competitors of "Makan":

The updated Macan can be identified by the LED strip on the fifth door, four-point brake lights and new headlights. They are now “in the base” LED, and for a surcharge you can install adaptive LED headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus). In addition, the design of the front bumper and radiator grilles has changed, so that the front of the crossover seems wider. And new colors have been added to the body palette: Mamba Green Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, Miami Blue and Crayon.

Another innovation can be found in the interior of the car - this is an advanced Porsche Communication Management (PCM) complex, which is included in the basic package. The diagonal of the touchscreen FullHD display with a customizable interface has been increased from 7.2 to 10.9 inches, and the functionality of the multimedia complex has been expanded due to deeper integration with smartphones.

New Porsche Macan options include a Porsche 911-style GT sports steering wheel, an air ionizer, a heated windshield and a traffic jam assistant that uses adaptive cruise control to drive at speeds below 60 km/h. This system is able to semi-automatically accelerate and slow down the car, as well as keep it in the lane.

The standard Porsche Macan from the restyled series is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 245 hp. and a maximum torque of 370 Nm. This gasoline engine, combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK robot and Porsche Traction Management (active all-wheel drive with electronically controlled multi-plate clutch, inter-wheel differential locks and traction control) accelerates the Macan from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.7 seconds, and from 80 to 120 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

Porsche Macan S received a 3.0-liter V6 petrol turbo engine. The power of the "six" is 354 hp, and the torque is 480 Nm. This unit is available with a 7-speed PDK and PTM system. From 0 to 100 km/h, the Macan S shoots in 5.3 seconds, and from 80 to 120 km/h in 3.6 seconds.

The Macan crossover is produced at the Porsche plant in Leipzig (Germany).
